Mala Savjani has recently joined the Wilsons immigration department as our Here for Good solicitor. This is a post funded by the Here for Good charity and Mala will be taking on cases referred to her by Here for Good and dealing predominantly with complex applications under the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS). Mala is employed by Wilson Solicitors and we will provide the supervision and infrastructure to deliver the service.

Here for Good is a charity that provides free immigration advice to EEA nationals and their family members living in the UK, through their email and telephone advice line. Here for Good also provides 1-2-1 support to the most vulnerable citizens such as the homeless, victims of domestic violence, and those with complex needs. The majority of applications will be made under the EUSS to help applicants apply for pre-settled or settled status.

If you have a question or need assistance with your EUSS application, you can take the following steps:

There is a free Here for Good self-help guide available so please take a look at this to see if you can find any of the answers to your queries within the guide.

If you have further questions, you can also call the Here for Good phone advice line:

If you do need further advice after speaking to someone on the advice line, you can complete the Means-testing Form, which will help Here for Good better understand your situation and determine what sort of advice you need.  Once the form has been completed, a caseworker aims to be in touch by email within 5-10 working days. Please note, during very busy periods, it may take slightly longer than this.

While Here for Good wants to help as many EU, EEA and Swiss citizens as possible, as well as their families, their priority is to support those with limited access to immigration advice, particularly those with vulnerabilities and complex cases. As such, enquiries will be considered in line with their Means-testing Policy. Here for Good will prioritise applications from those who are in receipt of benefits, individuals with disabilities or mental health issues, members of the Roma community, citizens who are homeless or in temporary accommodation and other vulnerable individuals – this includes, but is not limited to: victims of domestic abuse and human trafficking, elderly citizens, children in care, and care leavers.

Individuals with dependants will also be prioritised as Here for Good aims to assist the maximum number of people secure their status. Where capacity is limited, Here for Good is unable to provide support to applicants who have a combined household income of over £25,000 per year. In some cases, exceptional circumstances (such as where there are a high number of dependants) will be considered. In addition, applicants with over £10,000 in savings, who therefore could likely pay for legal assistance, will not be considered for the one to one advice services.

Wilson Solicitors are very pleased to be able to support this project by employing Mala to work as a Here for Good solicitor. Please do not hesitate to contact Here for Good if you qualify for their free service.

Our other immigration solicitors continue to provide the full range of immigration advice services to privately paying EU citizens and their families. To make an enquiry please complete our contact form or phone us on 0208 808 7535.
