Pride Run

Good luck to Wilsons athletes taking part in this year’s Pride Run.  The core team runners are Imogen, Colin, Adam, Tim, Emma, Lindsay, Sam and Harry.  We wish them fleet of foot. The meeting arrangements are 10am in Victoria Park, Grove Road, Bow, London, E3 5TB, at Molesworth Gate, opposite Victoria Park Harriers Clubhouse (corner Cadogan Terrace and Victoria Park Road). Race starts at 11am. Fans and well-wishers welcome.The runners are raising money for the excellent charity Micro Rainbow International. In November 2017 MRI has opened the first house in the UK to provide them with safe, temporary accommodation. Since opening, MRI has housed LGBTI asylum seekers and refugees from Bangladesh, El Salvador, Malaysia, Jamaica, Kenya and Kosovo. In July 2018, MRI opened two new safe houses in Birmingham to house LGBTI asylum seekers and refugees in the area. With 10 new allies donating £5, £10, or £20 per month, MRI will provide LGBTI refugees with employability training, life coaching and self-employment support whilst they live in safe accommodation, where they do not risk being abused.
