We can advise you when social services are involved with your family; including when concerns may have been expressed regarding the care of your own children, or children in your family that you may be concerned about, or you have been asked to care for by social services. We will fully advise you on the best way to engage with social services.
We will assist you in understanding why social services are involved and consider with you any documents that you have been sent and ensure you fully understand everything that is discussed. We will simplify legal language and processes, so you know how the matter is likely to proceed.
We can attend child protection conferences with parents, to provide you with a summary of the issues raised during the meeting, to ensure you understand what you are being asked to do, and to ensure you are given an opportunity to give your views and opinions on matters raised. We can represent you if you are invited to a Public Law Outline Meeting if court proceedings are being considered, and arrange to represent you in court if proceedings are initiated by the local authority.
