Refugees – and those needing humanitarian protection

We can advise you on the legal requirements that you need to meet to qualify as a refugee or for humanitarian protection. To qualify as a refugee you will need to demonstrate that you have a well-founded fear of persecution in your country of origin for one or more specific reason. We can advise you on whether your circumstances are likely to lead to a succesful appliction for asylum or not. We can advise you on the prodecure for claiming asylum, the conditions that will attach to your stay whilst you wait for a decision and if you are granted asylum, and whether you may be joined by your family members during or after your asylum claim.

We can assist you with making the application for asylum including preparing a detailed statement in support of your claim, identifying and compiling supportive country of origin evidence, and instructing experts where necessary to support your claim. We can prepare detailed legal representations in support of your claim.

We can represent you on your application, attend any asylum interview with you as your legal representative, and if your application is refused, we can represent you on any appeal, judicial review or a fresh application. For asylum appeals it is our usual practice to instruct some of the top barristers in the country to represent you before the court.
